Medusa: A Story of Power, Punishment, and Perspective 🐍
In ancient Greek mythology, Medusa was the only mortal among the three Gorgon sisters—daughters of sea gods. Once a beautiful priestess serving in Athena's temple, her life changed forever when Poseidon entered her bath chamber. The sea god fell instantly in love and took her in that sacred space. Athena, enraged by this violation of her temple, cursed Medusa—transforming her hair into serpents and her gaze into stone.
This raises a question that resonates even today: Was this justice, or misdirected rage?
Explore this powerful transformation in Ovid's Metamorphoses—a reminder that ancient stories still speak to modern conversations about accountability and justice.
